Our big news, of course, is the long-time-coming official launch of our Cinema Ciccone film series. It's taken several years and help from generous sponsors and supporters to create an environment that is absolutely first class. We have a huge theatre screen, a state-of-the- art sound system and HD projection equipment and, as always, not a bad seat in the house. We are presenting five outstanding documentary films this season and each will feature appearances by the key filmmakers as well. Please take a look at the films and order your tickets early. The "buzz" has already started. Be sure to take advantage of the substantial savings by purchasing tickets for the entire series. As for the first live performances this year – Fogettaboutit! One of America's finest character actors, with a career that includes, theatre, films and television, Dominic Chianese has something to sing about. And, he's terrific! Dominic's show, Typical New Yorker, is an evening of beautiful music and stories you'll never forget. Joining him is Bergen Community College's own master of the mandolin and guitar, John La Barbera. A special treat during Latin History month is Fusion Tango. The great Sandra Antognazzi returns to BCC with a company of spectacular dancers and, Sandra will also share her knowledge with BCC dance students in workshops and master classes. Feeling Wicked is an absolute dream of a show for anyone who loves the great songs from movies and Broadway Musicals about the magical and mystical. A real star-studded evening! And, of course, Bergen Sinfonia will once again make our holiday season glorious! We are so proud to call this world-class orchestra our very own. Each year, Maestro Murray Colosimo brightens up our holidays with an amazing performance. He not only fills our stage with his magnificent orchestra and breathtaking music, but always brings a stunning guest soloist too. This year is no exception as Metropolitan Opera's Lyric Soprano, Sara Beth Pearson, takes center stage. Bergen County just can't seem to get enough of Larry Kirwan. This amazing performer is back with another outstanding journey in song that explores the incredible musical connection between Ireland and America. The prolific performer-composer-novelist-playwright has been busy since last performing here. His musical, Paradise Square opens at the renowned Berkeley Rep in December before its Broadway opening in the spring and his new musical, Iraq, is likely to have a workshop production soon. Rumor has it we might actually have a "first-look" reading of the show at the Ciccone! And just so shamrocks don't grow beneath his feet, Larry's last performance here has been filmed as a television special. Whew! It's exhausting just writing about Larry Kirwan! D O M I N I C C H I A N E S E WELCOME TO OUR NEW AND EXCITING 2018 – 2019 SEASON!
